● The damage policy · in writing
If something's damaged.
Movers get asked one question more than any other: what happens if you break my stuff. Here is the written answer. Not a shrug, not a promise we can't back. A process, signed.
● Northern Removals · damage policy
- 01Prevention first.Blankets on every corner, straps on every load. That is why damage is rare. Rare is not never, so the rest of this page exists.
- 02Report it within 7 days.Call, text or email us photos of the damage within 7 days of the job. A photo and a sentence is enough. No forms.
- 03Assessed within 48 hours.Mayan looks at it himself and calls you back within 48 hours with what happens next. No claim department, no call centre.
- 04Repair, replace or credit. We repair it, replace it like for like, or credit you what it is worth. Where it is practical, your preference decides which.
That is the whole policy. I sign every outcome personally.

How to report damage
Photos plus a sentence, within 7 days of the job. Ring or text 0468 000 171 or email mayan@northernremovals.com.au. You will hear back within 48 hours, from Mayan, not a form letter.
If we disagree
You do not have to take our word for any of this. NSW Fair Trading takes complaints on 13 32 20 and can step in between us. We print that number here on purpose: a policy you can escalate is worth more than one you have to trust.
The part that's the law, not the promise
Australian Consumer Law guarantees that services are provided with due care and skill. No business can sign that away. Not with a waiver, not with fine print, not with a sticker on the truck. If goods are damaged through a lack of care, you have rights under the consumer guarantees no matter what any mover's paperwork says. That's not our promise, it's the law.
We don't carry transit insurance yet, and we say so plainly. This written policy is what we do instead, and the consumer guarantees apply on top of it, not instead of it.
